The History of Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement French Polynesia.
The message of the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement (SDARM)arrived in Tahiti in 1982 through an interest from Tahiti visiting our church in New Zealand. At that time two hundred people from the SDA main stream were interested with the message. Missionaries continued to follow the interest and give studies.
As a result in 1983, 24 persons were baptised and the same year the first Federation of the 7th day Adventist Reform Movement of French Polynesia was organised. The New Caledonia mission and The Martinique Mission were both combined together and administered under the Federation of French Polynesia.
French Polynesia is made up of 120 islands but our churches are located in only 5 of them.
Tahiti – 1 church and 1 group.
Moorea – 1 group
Huahine – 1 church
Bora Bora – 1 group
Maupiti – 1 group.
The Field has always been connected to the General Conference until April 2013 where the majority of the members decided to be part of the South Pacific Islands Union Mission. In December that year they became part of the newly formed South Pacific Union.
