A Short Report of the Solomon Islands – by Br. Rolly
Subject: Short report from Solomon Island Trip
Last April 9-20,2014 I was able to visit Solomon Island Mission. It was in the aftermath of the storm that flooded largely Guadalcanal province. Prices of food stuffs were drastically high and even there was scarcity of supply because farm plantations were destroyed.Twelve families of our people were affected leaving their houses to some evacuation areas for around two to three three days. The AUC send a relief aid to our brethren and we purchase bags of rice and every family received 3 1/2 bags of rice approximately 70 kgs to supply their needs.
I came back again last June 12-23,2014 to reorganize the Mission and the local church of Binu and also to conduct the spiritual meeting. New officers were elected and new plans were formulated. The new elected President was Bro Thomas NGUNTS from Papua New Guinea . He will be coming to Solomon Island as soon as the economy of the Mission will become stable. The first spiritual meeting was so successful and and was crowned with the baptism of two precious souls. When sabbath came the church of Binu was full of visitors and brethren from the neighboring islands. During this visit the AUC had sent another aid to our brethren in Solomon Island in form of Garden tools. Twelve families were benefited with a hoe, rake, spading fork, sprinkling container and a hand spray. In the farewell meeting , Bro Kuki, in behalf of the local church of Binu expressed their thanks to the AUC brethren for their timely support during the aftermath of the storm and also for the garden tools.
This is my short report in Solomon Island . Thank you and God bless

Vanuatu Youth Statistics
2016 Regional youth Convention in Fiji – around 30 plus youth from the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement in Vanuatu attended this youth camp program in Fiji Western Division. The outcome of the youth was very good and many of the youth have been met with new friend across the Pacific Island region and learning so many different things (spiritual and physical).
2017 National Youth Camp program in Santo – After the youth camp meeting in Fiji, the mission field realized the importance of keeping youth close together as long as it can. Consequently, in 2017 Vanuatu Mission Filed organized an inter – youth conventions that cater youths from different islands in Vanuatu. The outcome of the program was successfully carried out. Therefore, mission field has been decided to have this program as annually. This year (2018) it was planned for this program to be held in Malekula Island, we pray that God would help us, as we working together towards this important program at the end of this year 2018.
Many of our youths have been sometimes driven by the worldly influences, which resulted in the declining number of youths in our churches.
Singing is one of the most interested activity in the church, that most of the youths liked being involved in singing ministry, but with lack of coordination plus appropriated instrumental that can be use in the church many of the youth then to look out for some other things rather being involved actively in the church activities.
Youth need parental support – Most of the youth willing to participate and involve actively in the church activities and programs, however parents are not supportive enough especially for these living in Port Vila for example where children needs bus fare to move from place to place to do the actual activities parents should show support in terms of finance and show up giving them encouragement talk.
Let this be our pray that our sons may be as plants grown up in their youths; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace; Psalms 144: 12.
In the children committed to our care every parents has a sacred charge from God. “Take this son, this daughter,” He says; “Train it for Me; give it a character polished after the similitude of a palace, that it may shine in the courts of the Lord forever.” (MH 376.1)
