The History of Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement Solomon Islands Field Mission

Solomon islands is a group of islands in the south pacific that has it’s mixed race people such as: Melanesians, Polynesians, Micronesians, Asians and Europeans . All speak in their different  languages.

We have 9 provinces with a population of approximately 500,000. In the Solomon islands there are five main churches which existed before SDARM came and these are: Anglican Church of England, The Roman Catholic Church, South Seas Evangelical Methodist Church and The Seventh Day Adventist (main stream).

BRIEF HISTORY OF HOW THE SDARM ENTERED  THE SOLOMON ISLANDS

In 2009 two missionaries from Australia and Vanautu were sent to the Solomon islands and stayed for one week to start the canvassing work in Honiara.

Early 2010, two other brethrens were sent by AUC from the welfare Departments to assist with disaster relief after the earthquake and further interest in the truth was generated.

On the 3rd trip to the Solomons by the grace of God our brethren managed to find out that there were already interested souls who had been browsing through the SDARM WEBSITE and had accepted the truth and were only waiting for any opportunity for baptism. The church was registered on the 9th June 2010 followed by a wonderful witness of one precious soul who surrendered to the truth of God which we believe and uphold. Six other souls were added to the church on the fourth visit. Ongoing visits and outreach continued with the support of Vanuatu Mission Field worker and the church was organized.

The work has continued to grow and spread to other islands. This new mission field has also assisted outreach efforts to spread the light to neighboring Bougainville.

Today there is one local church and 2 groups in the Solomon Islands.

We have organized as a Field in 2011 with an ordained Elder and bible workers.
